Suspects apprehended after driving past LPR System, Diepriver

Western Cape:   On 2017/06/19 at 10.30 a suspicious vehicle, a gold Toyota Etios with false Registration Plates was noted in the area after the local LPR System picked up the vehicle. The suspicious vehicle was located by a security company who thereafter observed the suspects. The information was relayed to SAPS Diep River and the Law Enforcement, of the location of the vehicle. Law Enforcement volunteers responded. Law Enforcement placed blue lights of their vehicle on, in order to pull the suspious vehicle off. The suspects failed to stop and sped away onto Main Road Diep River, where SAPS Diep River and Wynberg were waiting.

A small collision incurred involving the suspect vehicle while trying to evade authorities. No injuries were sustained. Four black in colour males, residing in Nyanga and Macassar Area were arrested and charged for possession of Housebreaking implements. One unlicensed firearm, one crowbar and four sets of gloves were located in suspect vehicle. Suspects are thought to be linked to crimes of the same modus operandi in the Northern suburbs.
