IMMEDIATE MEDIA RELEASE – Tuesday 14TH November 2017


Western Cape: On 2017-11-12 at about 16:00 a complainant and friend were allegedly robbed at gunpoint whilst walking in Exeter Road, Plumstead. Two cell phones were taken in the process. Suspects fled in a silver colour sedan-shaped vehicle.

Proactive thinking between Diep River SAPS members and community based partnerships/structures – neighbourhood watches and security service providers later lead to the arrest of two male suspects, aged 18 years and 13 years respectively. A replica firearm was found in possession of the suspects as well as the complainants’ cell phones. Suspects were arrested and detained at Diep River for further investigation.

No shots were fired. No injuries. Cases of Possession of stolen property and Armed Robbery are being investigated. Anyone with information pertaining to the above can contact Detective Constable Mrwebi 021 710 7349.
