SAPS Diep River can confirm for the Month of December 2016 festive season operations have been continuously implemented. Ten operations including road blocks, had been held. An approximate amount of R13,000.00 fines were written. Police members patrolled malls, railways and residential areas daily. 102 people were arrested during this month, with charges ranging from possession of stolen vehicle, malicious damage to property, reckless and negligent driving, housebreaking, assault, possession of drugs, theft, drunken driving, domestic violence and other minor offences .
Theft out of motor vehicle as well as theft of motor vehicle is a huge concern. Members of the public to remain vigilant, especially at shopping malls, as well as when parking on off street parking.
