SAPS Diepriver experienced 3 cases of public interest.

Firstly a 2yr old little girl fell out of a moving train between the Plumstead and Steurhof railway station. It is alleged that the doors of the moving train was open. The girl was travelling with her mother and 2 siblings. The girl suffered injuries and was rushed to Red Cross Children’s hospital. The mother and siblings received counselling at SAPS Diepriver. No criminal cases were opened.

At Plumstead High School three pupils were accosted by a coloured male with a firearm on the school grounds and robbed them of their cell phones. Nobody was injured and no shots were fired during the incident.


On Monday afternoon quick thinking neighbourhood watch members alerted police and security companies of 2 suspicious males on the corner of Churchill and South road Plumstead. Combat force security attended the complaint first followed the suspects and informed SAPS who arrested the suspects and detained them at SAPS Diepriver.


On Monday evening at a shop on the corner of Churchill and South road Plumstead 3 coloured males one armed with a silver pistol jumped over the counter. They instructed the owner to lay face down and cable tied his hands behind his back. The suspects spoke Afrikaans they took cigarettes, cell phone and cash.
