CAR HIJACKING

On 2015-09-05 at 23:15 a Plumstead resident arrived home.

As per vehicle owner the driver went outside to park the vehicle inside the yard when the 4 b/males came from behind him and held a gun against his head.

They then asked for money and demanded he must go with them. Driver got free and ran inside. Suspects then drove off with the vehicle towards De Waal road then to Grassy park direction. They fled in their green Mazda Midge323 no registration. (more…)

At Home on the Streets – People’s Post (Astrid Februarie)

There is a growing number of homeless people in Constantia who seek help in getting off the street. Last week the special response team in Constantia took People’s Post to all the homeless people hotspots in the community. People’s Post found that many of the street people live in the area due to the safety and security the area provides. A mouse looked through a crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife opening a package; what food might it contain? He was aghast to discover that it was a mouse trap! Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning, “There is a mouse trap in the house, there is a mouse trap in the house.”

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, “Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. THAT’S NOT MY PROBLEM! I cannot be bothered by it.” (more…)

SAPS Airwing conduct low level flying patrols across the Constantia Valley

SAPS Wynberg Operations arranged for the SAPS Airwing to conduct routine patrols across our area today, Saturday. They concentrated on the shopping centres, then moved across to Hout Bay where they assisted in trying to find a fisherman lost at sea near Seal Island. Two of our local SAPS members accompanied the pilots, and were able to point out various hot spots. Communication with CVIC (Constantia Valley Information Centre), the community radio control room was done via the community radio on board the chopper.

It’s hard to keep caring

Today, I stopped caring about my fellow man. I stopped caring about my community, my neighbors, and those I serve. I stopped caring today because a once noble profession has become despised, hated, distrusted, and mostly unwanted.

I stopped caring today because parents refuse to teach their kids right from wrong and blame us when they are caught breaking the law. I stopped caring today because parents tell their little kids to be good or “the police will take you away” embedding a fear from year one. Moms hate us in their schools because we frighten them and remind them of the evil that lurks in the world.
