National Security and Fire have been working this year to be more involved with the Community and community structures and in so doing have been a monthly contributor to the CVWA
Our community involvement helped a Kirstenhof resident recently when he contacted us through a community group to request assistance with his Son’s missing cell phone. His son had thought that he had just lost his cell phone at home when he was alerted through Google alerts that his phone had been in Bellville. He then activated the tracking and saw that his phone was moving around through various areas. National Response Supervisor, Xolani Mthini jumped into action with support from Regional Sales Manager, Darren Bond, and Response Manager, Keith Davids. They met the complainant and tracked the phone to Capricorn. A thorough search of the area yielded no results as they could not get a pinpoint location and then lost the signal when the phone was switched off.
A few days later, the phone came back on line and the complainant alerted them. This time they chased the signal all the way to the Bellville area. They managed to identify that the signal was coming from a vehicle that appeared to be an e-hailing taxi. They alerted SAPS who joined them in pulling the vehicle over, where the phone was recovered and a suspect arrested. The phone was subsequently returned to the grateful Kirstenhof resident.
National are also proud to say that three of our Response Officers, Honest Ndlovu, Brett Hayward and Stephen Dorfling were recently awarded SIA Bravery Awards at a function held at Gallagher Estate in Johannesburg. These awards were given for the officers bravery in effecting arrests in the course of duty on customers premises. We salute these members for their dedication in protecting our clients.
National Security will continue to work to build relations within communities and we thank CVWA and all other role players for their support this year.
Footnote: “Thank you to National Security and Fire from us all in the Constantia Valley – your enthusiasm and teamwork with all role players, SAPS, patrollers and other security companies is appreciated.
