The Cape Aflame: Cape Town’s Dance with Fire

Dear Family and Friends

Some of you will know that I have been very involved over the past few months with a group of photographer friends in self-publishing a book about the fires that took place in the Cape in March this year. It’s called The Cape Aflame: Cape Town’s Dance with Fire.

It’s a high-quality, 176 page coffee table style book containing over 200 spectacular images donated by leading professional and amateur photographers accompanied by 10 chapters of editorial which tells the story and a whole lot more. The project is for charitable purposes with all profits going to fire-fighting and animal rescue organisations based in the Cape.

My role has been as the Project Management and Business Lead, but I also had great fun getting involved in other aspects of the book including editorial, design, and our sales and marketing strategy. It’s been a wonderful learning experience and I’m very pleased to let you know that the book has now been completed and submitted for printing.

Today marks the launch of our pre-order campaign aimed at promoting awareness as well as generating early sales momentum. I’m writing to you because I need your help with this!

By clicking on any of the flyers below, you will be taken to our website where you can learn more about the book, the beneficiaries whom we wish to support and the rest of the team behind the project. You can also go directly to the website by following the link, www.capeaflame.com.

I’m hoping that once you’ve toured the site, you’ll be convinced to click on the “buy now” button right away! If you are one of the first 1 000 people to do so before 25 September, your name will appear in the book as a contributor to a cause that I’m extremely proud to be associated with. As an added bonus, the book will be delivered to you free of charge anywhere in South Africa.

Please share this with your family and friends to help promote awareness of the book and assist in generating the sales needed to ensure that the maximum amount possible flows to our beneficiaries.

It’s all for a good cause, at a great price, and I hope that I can count on your support!

Regards.
