SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE SERVICE-CORPORATE COMMUNICATION: DIEP RIVER SAPS

Western Cape: On Monday 2018-04-23 at about 01:00 a local business in De Waal Road, Diep River was robbed in the early hours of the morning.
Two male suspects jumped over the fence and held up a security guard who was on duty at the time guarding the premises. The security guard was taken inside the main building area and cable-tied along with a fellow employee of the business. The two suspects were joined by another two male accomplices who then took off with a large amount of electrical cables. No shots were fired and no injuries sustained. A case of business robbery was opened by Diep River SAPS.

In a separate incident at about 21:30 Diep River SAPS responded to a complaint of a House Robbery that took place in Prince George Drive, Plumstead.
The complainant was busy cooking food in his room when two unknown males entered the premises and posed as fellow security guards. The two unknown males then attacked the complainant with a metal object and dragged him to a room where they then took personal belongings from the complainant as well as power tools and other items on the premises. The suspects then locked the complainant in this room and fled.
The complainant managed to alert the neighbours after escaping from the locked room and was later taken to hospital due to the injuries sustained from the attack.
A case of House Robbery was opened and is being investigated by Diep River SAPS Detectives.

Housebreaker stopped in her tracks
On 2018-04-25 at about 14:55 Diep River SAPS responded to a house breaking complaint at Pluto Road, Plumstead.
One suspect, female, approximately 35 years of age, was subsequently arrested after she allegedly forced her way into the premises. The suspect was found with various items belonging to the complainant who was home during the incident. No shots were fired and no injuries sustained. Charges of Housebreaking and theft were opened.
Diep River SAPS would like to thank the members who were involved as well as all community role players such as the neighbourhood watches and security providers who work in close partnership with SAPS to bring these criminal elements to book.

Shopping Centre on Fire
On Friday 2018-04-27 at about 00:15 Diep River SAPS attended to a fire burning at a local shopping centre, Constantia main road, Constantia.
On arrival members found trolleys belonging to one of the businesses at the centre was set alight. Investigation on scene lead to an unknown male had allegedly set the trolleys alight and later ran away when a staff member of one of the businesses at the centre saw him.
Local Fire Services were called out to extinguish the fire. No injuries sustained on scene. A case of Arson was opened by Diep River SAPS.

Diep River Community Police Forum gives Diep River SAPS Community Service Centre (CSC) a small make over
On Friday 2018-04-27 members of the Diep River Community Police Forum as well as Diep River SAPS off duty cops took to the paint brush to give the Community Service Centre (CSC) a new look. We received a donation of paint for a much needed make over to the CSC and members of the CPF as well as Diep River SAPS took their ‘off day’ to come and paint the CSC.
We would like to thank all the members involved from the CPF and SAPS side. Members of the public are now welcomed to a newer and improved CSC.
