Bicycle recovered

Western Cape: On Wednesday 30th May 2018 at about 13:00 Diep River Crime Prevention Unit, namely Constable Ashley Adonis, Constable Donovan Katzke and Constable Sanelisekile Benzi were conducting routine patrols in Canon Road, Plumstead when they came across an unknown male acting suspiciously riding on a new bicycle.

The members proceeded to stop this male and questioned him with regards as to where he got the bicycle. The unknown male became nervous and could not provide the officers justification as to where he got the bicycle.

The members then proceeded to arrest the man. The bicycle is valued approximately at R48000.00. Charges of Possession of Presumed Stolen Property was opened.

Diep River SAPS requests anyone that has recently had a bicycle stolen to please inquire at the station on 021 710 7300.

The members are thanked for their vigilance and dedication towards combating and preventing crime in the area.
